"Courtside is a business that wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Black culture. Over the past year we’ve watched, listened, and continue to learn more about how serious a problem racism and inequity are in our society. Social issues can’t just be about a social media post or hashtag. Moving forward, we will further educate ourselves and be a positive force and role model when it comes to social justice. With this in mind, my wife and I have decided to create the Courtside Black Culture Bursary Fund. Starting in the 2021-2022 academic year, we will award three Black students who demonstrate financial need, community support and involvement, and leadership qualities with a $1,000 bursary. Full details on requirements and application will be shared through the Black Cultural Society of PEI."
