Consider joining our Board of Directors!
- Attend monthly Board meetings and supplemental committee meetings as needed (approx. 2-4 hours per month depending on committee engagement)
- Share your knowledge and perspective
- Work collaboratively with other Board members to help support BCSPEI staff and lead the organization
- Be committed to BCSPEI’s vision, mission, values, policies, and programs
- Review and approve annual operating budget and financial statements
- Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization and the communities we serve
If you don’t have any experience, still apply! We are looking for people committed to the empowerment and development of PEI’s Black community and interested in volunteering some of their time to support this organization.

The Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island (BCSPEI) is a not-for-profit organization located in Charlottetown, Epekwitk. Established in 2016 as a community group, we are now a non-profit organization with a growing mandate to preserve PEI’s Black history, celebrate our culture, and to create and advocate for resources that will help develop and strengthen the Island’s Black communities.
